MEET SOPH
AKA SPORTS NUT SOPH

Introductions
Alright guys, I’m Soph, as in Sports Nut Soph. Using my background in art direction and design, blended with my hobbies, and passion for exploring, I’ll be packing this place with a curated journal of my sports and travel adventures. Yup, the whole shebang's coming up: writing, photos, videos, illustrations, interviews, playlists and more, all themed on where to go, when, for what.

HANG ABOUT, HOW DID THIS ALL COME ABOUT?
Sports Nut Soph and the Sports Nut Soph journal all started with some insistent persistence from friends and souls I’ve met along the way who encouraged me to post and keep in comms about fun stuff I was getting up to (or get up to). The idea of keeping a journal of sorts felt like something that could work for me too…
As the name suggests, I love sports. Over years, I’ve made time to do a few pretty regularly as well as try new ones now and again. Somewhere along the line, I also realised that I was using any opportunity I could between work to be in certain places at certain times of the year to do certain sports.
Whilst taking a full break from the creative industry, I thought I should probably find a way to keep my skills in check. Actually get round to upskilling, too. That, plus a mix of the above, prompted me to take the plunge and start this.

SO, WHERE IS THIS GOING?
If we’re ready to put labels on things, I’ll be frank with you. I’m a sports enthusiast not a pro, and someone who loves
an adventure. I'm journaling about where I’ve been, what time of the year I’ve gone and what for. Quick head's up, a lot's going to be based in Aotearoa | New Zealand.
All in all, the approach will be pretty cruisey. I’m also fully indulging in dabbling with skills in the world of design and storytelling, for me, outside of producing work for brands.
From a personal stand point, I want to keep a log of some awesome experiences, and use these this to help with planning future trips too.
With that in mind, if there’s anything here that encourages you to get ideas or provides tips on where to go when and what for, that’s RAD!
